From 10 to 21 October 2016, in Brazzaville, CIESPAC hosted a training workshop on capacity building of health actors on strategies for the control of vectors of malaria and arbovirus (LvPA). This workshop, funded by OCEAC, was attended by 18 learners from Congo, Gabon, Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon.
Learners were taught about the epidemiology of malaria and arboviruses, vector bioecology, methods of mosquito identification and analysis, methods of detection, monitoring and management of mosquito resistance to insecticides, and implementation of vector control measures in the context of integrated control. Learner support was provided by researchers from the OCEAC / CIESPAC and the Ministry of Health and Population of the Congo. The workshop was opened by the Director of CIESPAC Ms Elisabeth Patricia Fayette representing the Executive Secretary of OCEAC. The workshop ended with the submission of certificates of participation to the participants.
