Workshop on statistics for use by doctors and biologists of Central Africa (BioMed-STAT)
GENERAL PRESENTATION
The BioMed-STAT workshop is training in statistics, designed and implemented in collaboration with the School of Public Health Nancy (Nancy ESP) and Sub Regional Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics (ISSEA) of CEMAC. Training is provided with the assistance of a team of experts from both partner institutions.
OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP
Familiarize participants with basic statistical techniques used in medicine and public health;
Get participants to be able to apply these techniques and interpret the results thereof;
Provide participants with the skills to understand the methodology and the statistical results of medical literature, and have a critical eye on the applied statistical methodology.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The course is open to physicians and biologists (BAC + 3 minimum) whose work involves the database analysis, interpretation of statistical results or reading scientific articles in the field of medicine and health public. Health workers employed by the Ministries of Public Health of Central African countries are privileged. This is in particular those working in the Hospital and University centers and the National Public Health Laboratories.
