Workshop on strategies against malaria vectors and arboviruses (LVPA)
GENERAL PRESENTATION
Training is provided by a team of entomologists OCEAC, the WHO Regional Office for Africa and international experts.
Training includes theoretical courses, practical sessions in the laboratory and in the field and tutorials.
OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP
Provide participants with updated knowledge on vector control;
Updating the participants' knowledge on the functioning of epidemiological systems vector-borne diseases.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After training, the trainee must be able to:
- describe the bio-ecology of malaria and arboviruses vectors;
- distinguish the different factors that influence the epidemiological systems of malaria and arboviruses;
- perform evaluation tests of the effectiveness of treatment materials (walls, nets, etc.);
- perform evaluation tests of sensitivity vis-à-vis the mosquito insecticides.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
The training mainly aims entomologists technicians and other technicians engaged in national programs and / or graduate degree programs in early career in health sciences engaged to perform duties primarily devoted to the fight against malaria arboviruses.
