    Course of Epidemiology and Informatics in Central Africa (CEPIAC)

    GENERAL PRESENTATION

    The CEPIAC is operational training in Epidemiology. This is a short course designed and implemented in collaboration with the Agence de Medecine Preventive (AMP), taking into account the specificities of Central Africa. Training is learner-centered and focuses the scenario and problem solving.

    OBJECTIVES

    The objectives of the training are::

    Using the principles, concepts, methods and bio epidemiologic statistics:

    • Investigate and manage outbreaks;
    • Define, organize and evaluate epidemiological surveillance systems;
    • Conduct a field survey on a public health problem;
    • Make decisions on the basis of the financial information;
    • Effectively communicate routinely publique.Utiliser health information processing software and epidemiological analysis.

    INTENDED AUDIENCE

    The course is open to physicians, biologists, entomologists, public health technicians (BAC + 3 minimum). These include professional used by ministries of public health of Central African countries.

  • Modality

    TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

    The selection of trainees is performed on a file review by a selection committee in close cooperation with the GPA. The number of participants is limited to 20.

    FEES AND EXPENSES TEACHING

    Learners benefit from the scholarship OCEAC will be exempt from payment of registration fees and educational expenses amounting to 2,000,000 CFA francs. This scholarship can cover among others the costs of accommodation and catering.

  • Evaluation

    Participants taking part in the training are subject to a pre-test and post-test to measure the level of knowledge acquired by them. The course is recognized by the issuance of a certificate of participation to any participant who has demonstrated satisfactory performance during the workshop.
