Training workshop for health workers in endemic foci in diagnostic techniques and the fight against human African trypanosomiasis (HAT-TDL)
GENERAL PRESENTATION
The workshop initiated by TDL-THA OCEAC is a program that aims to contribute to capacity building of health personnel of the Central African endemic foci.
This training, which lasts two weeks has 50% of theoretical and 50% practical lessons in the laboratory and in the field.
The design and implementation of the program are provided by the Sub Regional Programme against human African trypanosomiasis OCEAC, in collaboration with international experts from specialized institutions and universities in the subregion.
OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP
This training aims to strengthen the capacity of health personnel in the diagnosis, treatment, therapeutic monitoring of patients and trypanosomiasis vector control against tsetse flies.
This program also aims to provide effective support to the National Control Programs against HAT (PNLTHA) during surveys of the disease in their health areas and gradually establish a sentinel disease surveillance across the subregion.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
The workshop is open to nurses and technicians station in health centers of human African trypanosomiasis foci (THA).
